The evopro group sponsored both the CrySys Security Challenge and the iCTF competition.

The second CrySys Security Challenge was held between March 2-14. It was organized by the Laboratory of Cryptography and System Security of the Department of Networked Systems and Services of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) - the evopro group was also a sponsor. The competition's goal was to discover young talents.

Students got to learn about the problems of IT security in a playful quiz and they also gained hands-on practical experience about how to solve them. This year's goal was to locate traces of a cyber attack and to analyze the malicious software. The competitors had to find 15 hidden flags on a virtual machine completing the stages of discovery and analysis.

The best players from the CrySys Security Challenge faced a new competition on March 22 at the iCTF international hacker competition organized by the University of California, Santa Barbara. The teams had to find security holes in various services, then they had to make use of those holes to attack other teams while at the same time fixing their own security holes against attacks coming from the other teams. The 25 strong team from BME taking part in this international challenge was sponsored by the evopro group.
