The REPARA User Forum was held on May 24 where participants were introduced to the REPARA project. The project was started in September of 2013 with the goal of increasing productivity for heterogeneous software development projects.
The participants of the forum learned about the capabilities and usage of the REPARA framework, showcasing how its application can reduce development time and increase productivity for their software development projects targeting heterogeneous architectures. The REPARA framework consists of development tools that help porting sequential C++ applications to heterogeneous architectures consisting of CPU, GPU, FPGA or DSP devices, taking into account performance, energy efficiency, and source code maintainability.
The event was visited by about 30 people, including partners of the evopro consortium. The forum was honored by the presence of Dr.-Ing. Andreas Koch, professor at the Darmstadt Technical University, and by Dr. J. Daniel Garcia, professor at the internationally acclaimed Charles III University of Madrid. The morning was filled not just with presentations and informal professional discussions, but participants were also shown a live demo of the framework.
