The award ceremony for the 2016 Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize was held at the Parliament on March 29 where evopro’s innovative Modulo composite electric bus has received an Honourable Mention.
The jury consists of leading economic professionals invited by the Board of Trustees of the Hungarian Innovation Foundation, and it is chaired by József Pálinkás, president of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office. The jury praised not only the surplus revenue and profit generated by evopro’s innovative product, not only its technical and economical advantages, but also its originality, novelty, and social utility, and also the high quality of the tender itself. This year the grand prize was won by a family of medical diagnostic measurement devices made by 77 Elektronika Műszeripari Ltd. The Modulo C68e composite electric bus keeps demonstrating its advantages: besides the small fleet of buses that have already been in service in Budapest since May 2016, it is also being tested in various other cities, in Hungary and abroad. As László Kövér, Speaker of the House highlighted, “the [Hungarian] government is committed to increase its support and its resources for R&D and innovations year after year. It is committed to create a more transparent and more solid support and financial system - beyond the current growth path of the steadily progressing economy - to make the future more predictable for all actors of innovation.”
