At the awards ceremony the president and CEO of evopro spoke to the new generation.

The “Math Kangaroo” competition was first held in Hungary in 1996. In the competition primary and high school students from 64 countries compete with each other. The problems to be solved in each competition are decided at a conference by the organizers. In order to avoid a large number of dead heats, regions receive easier or harder problems depending on their average math knowledge. Due to its strong field of participants Hungary is in the category that receives the most difficult list of problems. The difficulties of the problems also depend on the grade levels: the competition divides students from grades 2 to 12 into six levels.

This year there were 39,000 students participating in the competition in Hungary, of those 281 were invited to the awards ceremony. Prizes were given to the teachers who prepared the top 10 students in each category and also to those who prepared the top 3. Altogether 45 primary school teachers and 24 high school teachers received awards. The award ceremony was held at the ELTE TTK (Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Science) on April 27, 2013. In his speech, Csaba Mészáros has also informed the teachers about the annual evobox TT contest whose goal is to help primary school students get interested in STEM subjects with visual teaching aids.
